Our Beliefs

What we believe has everything to do with our experience of life.

“Get a Word from God, and it can change your life!”

Pastor Mark Lillo

We Believe…

The Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God, His revelation to man. The Word builds our faith and instructs us for our conduct of life.

(2 Timothy 3: 15-17; 1 Peter 2:2)

This truth is the foundation for our beliefs about:

God

There is one eternal God who created all things and He is known as the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

(Mark 12:29; Isaiah 43:10-11)

Jesus

Jesus Christ is God revealed as a man, conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin. Jesus lived without sin and came to give us abundant (God‘s quality and eternal) life.

(Luke 1:31-35; Hebrews 4:15; John 10:10)

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit reveals our need for salvation. He is received to empower and fill the Believer after salvation. This empowerment is evidenced by a prayer language, called speaking in tongues.

(Acts 1:8; 2:4; 10:44-48; 1 Cor. 12)

Ourselves

Man was created by and in the image of God. Man willingly sinned and was separated from God’s presence and life.

(Genesis 1:26-27; 3:1-24; Isaiah 59:1-2)

Salvation

Salvation is the gift of God received through Jesus Christ His Son that brings us back into relationship with God. We are born again into the kingdom of God by believing in Jesus Christ as God’s Son, by acknowledging our sins, and accepting His forgiveness. Christ then indwells our hearts.

(Ephesians 2:8; Romans 10:9-10; 1 John 1:9)

Sanctification

Sanctification is right standing before God as a position (justification). It is granted through the blood of Jesus. Sanctification is also a progression in the Believer’s life, as more revelation of holiness is realized from the Word, believed and obeyed. Finally we shall be like Christ when He comes again and we see Him.

(Hebrews 10: 10, 14 (Instant or Positional Sanctification); Romans 6 (Progressive Sanctification)

Baptism

Baptism by immersion is an outward testimony of what has happened inwardly for a Believer. When he/she believes in Jesus his/her previous life of sin is washed and put off and he/she is raised up with Christ and is spiritually positioned with Him at the right hand of the Father.

(Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:4; Ephesians 2:4-7)

Communion

Communion is a time of remembering and applying what Christ did for us in His death, burial and resurrection. Forgiveness, righteousness, healing, and all of the promises of God are made available to Believers as benefits if we do not forget what Christ has done and receive those benefits by faith.

(Matthew 26: 26-28; Isaiah 53:4-5; 1 Corinthians 11:28-30)

Healing

Healing is the will of God and is available to all who will receive this provision in Christ.

(Isaiah 53:4-5; Psalm 103:2-4; Matthew 8:5-17; 9:35)

The Second Coming of Christ

The Second Coming of Christ is when He will come in the clouds for His Church; both the dead and alive who have been born again shall be caught up in the air to reign with Him.

(I Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelations 2:26; 20:1-7)

Marriage

Marriage is a divine, sacred institution given by God between one man and one woman in a covenant commitment for a lifetime.

(Genesis 2:24; Mark 10: 2-9; Romans 1: 21, 26-27)
